Thus is a genuine 1956 Les Paul TV Special. These are going for £10-£15000 in todays market. The body has been professionally refinished along the way, it's in great shape and was done very well. All electronics are original, as are the tuners, bridge, and pick-guard. The neck pickup P90 is original, the bridge pickup is a later P90. Both bridge posts are straight and solid. The guitar absolutely screams, the two pick up special is much more versatile than the single pickup junior. The action is low and the frets are excellent. I love the figured fingerboard which is in great shape. The headstock has never been Grovered, nor has there been any cracks anywhere.
What is it that makes vintage Gibsons sound so good? This guitar is a tone monster the neck pickup is silky smooth. but dig in with the pick and it has real bite, the bridge pickup is really smoking and really screams. If you use both pickups together you get the most amazing and very distinctive honking tone.
A 51 year old guitar that was once owned and used by Bad Company guitarist Mick Ralphs. Why he ever sold it is beyond me. It is brilliant little guitar and deserves to be played on a daily basis.
