This is a great all original hand made Custom Shop Historic 1958 Les Paul Standard, with it's original hard case and all the relevant paperwork. Mint condition.
I have a real love of Gibson Custom shop guitars especially the historic collection range. This 58 is in a faded ice tea which looks gorgeous, it has historically correct shaped inlays, binding, jack plate, holly headstock veneer, knobs, CTS pots, Bumble Bee capacitors and most importantly the sound is to die for.
On picking up the guitar I was immediately struck with the overall feel, it looks new but feels vintage. The neck is the thick 50s style and this helps it sustain for ever. Personally I am a fan of this type of neck (with the longer neck tenon joint ) you can feel the guitar resonating through the neck. The action is effortless and bends are easy and smooth. The tone really lends itself to blues, it is smooth as a gravy sandwich and is perfect for slow sustained guitar breaks. Back the volume controls off and wonderful clean and crunch sounds can be obtained. I believe that this guitar is a real classic and if you want vintage tone and feel with out the tens of thousand pound price tag, then this is the baby for you.
Comes with its Gibson hard-case and free Schaller strap-locks.
